Fair Use Policy

Last updated: July 15, 2026

This Fair Use Policy explains how SoundLine Communications keeps “unlimited” honest — what your plan includes, what usage patterns are not permitted, and how we protect the network for everyone. It applies to all SoundLine services and is part of our Terms of Service.

1. Purpose and Scope

This Fair Use Policy (“Policy”) governs the use of all SoundLine Communications services. It is designed to ensure that the service remains reliable and affordable for all customers by preventing activities that put an undue burden on the network.

2. Usage Limits and Fair Use Pool

SoundLine plans are priced per user and include unlimited calling and messaging for ordinary business use. Unlike most providers, we publish exactly what “unlimited” means:

  • Included Minutes: Every plan — Starter, Growth, and Elite — includes a fair use pool of 1,500 calling minutes per user per month, pooled across all users on your account. A 10-user account, for example, shares a 15,000-minute monthly pool. That is roughly 75 minutes of talk time per user every business day — more than a typical business user needs.
  • Overage: SoundLine reserves the right to charge for usage exceeding the included pool or to modify service for accounts whose usage is consistently abnormal. Where practical, we will contact you before making any change.
  • High-Volume Plan: If your business genuinely needs more — for example a call center or high-volume outbound team — a High-Volume plan with unlimited usage is available upon request. Contact us to discuss.

Unlimited SMS & MMS is likewise subject to ordinary business use and the messaging rules in Section 4. Enterprise plan allotments are defined in your service agreement.

3. Prohibited Calling Activities

The service is provided for ordinary and reasonable business use between individuals. You may not use the service for:

  • Auto-dialing or Predictive Dialing: Using any automated system or software to place calls.
  • Trunking: Forwarding your SoundLine numbers to other systems (like a private PBX) that handle multiple simultaneous calls.
  • Traffic Pumping: Engaging in schemes designed to artificially inflate call volumes to generate revenue.
  • Abnormal Patterns: Generating excessive short-duration calls or spikes in call attempts that indicate non-human operation.

4. Prohibited Messaging and Content

SoundLine maintains a zero-tolerance spam policy. Users must not transmit content related to the following high-risk or regulated categories:

  • Regulated Products: Cannabis, CBD, vape products, alcohol, firearms, or tobacco.
  • High-Risk Financial Services: Payday loans, short-term high-interest lending, cryptocurrency.
  • Deceptive Marketing: “Get rich quick” schemes, pyramid schemes, or third-party lead generation.
  • Hateful or Harmful Content: Anything that promotes discrimination, harassment, or threats of physical harm.

5. System Integrity and Security

You are prohibited from attempting to harm or bypass SoundLine’s infrastructure, including:

  • Malicious Software: Transmitting viruses, malware, or Trojan horses.
  • Circumvention: Bypassing security mechanisms or testing system vulnerabilities without authorization.
  • Competitive Use: Accessing the service for the purpose of building a competitive product or service.

6. High-Risk Use Prohibited

SoundLine services are not designed for fail-safe operation. You may not use the service in hazardous environments (e.g., emergency services, nuclear facilities, or life-support systems) where service interruption could result in personal injury, property damage, or death.

7. Resale and Sublicensing

You may not sell, resell, sublicense, or offer the service as a service bureau or time-sharing arrangement without prior written consent from SoundLine Communications.

8. Enforcement and Review

SoundLine Communications reserves the right to review usage for compliance. If usage is determined to be in violation of this Policy, SoundLine may immediately suspend or terminate your service without notice.
